This year, 2003, a few cronies made a trip to visit a little known fish restaurant called Dique, well actually it isn't really a restaurant at all. What it is, is a fried fish palace. A type of establishment where the only thing served is copious amounts of deep fried fish and seafood. In Spain fish is, well fish (pescado), and everything else is seafood, i.e. shrimp, clams, oysters, squids, crabs, etc. Generally, if it has fins its a fish and if not it's seafood (mariscos).

These photos were taken under very adverse conditions or poor light and the photographer was suffering from acute hunger as we had yet to have lunch. Better pictures will grace this page in the future.

This is a scene taken from Venta San Andres. A sea donkey rather than a seahorse.

Crony Casa

Joke - this is a good looking summer cottage in Sanlucar, just a small summer place.

Crony luncheon

The specialty of the house in El Dique is pescado frito variado. This delectable platter contains baby shrimp, hake, cuttlefish, and other delicious items.

El Dique

This is a photo of a photo showing the old El Dique. Now it has been modernized. Dique is a well kept secret, a fried fish place with very little else.

Hams galore

The Jamon Serrano is also good in Sanlucar. This was taken in a venta close to El Dique in Sanlucar.

Sanlucar

This used to be a soap factory when Sanlucar was part of Arabia, back in the old days before El Cid.

Ancient structure

Sanlucar, like the other towns of Andalucia has it's history.
